Summer Solstice Duathlon & 5K

Course

Duathlon - 2 mile run, 9.5 mile bike, 2 mile run.

Duathlon Relay - 2 or 3 person run-bike-run. Male, Female and Mixed divisions. All three entry forms must be submitted together. No exceptions.

5K Run - Not part of the duathlon.

The 5k Run starts with the duathlon, but goes past the duathlon turn to a point further north on E Lawther.

Directions

Located at the Bath House Cultural Center parking lot - White Rock Lake, Dallas, Texas.

From I-30 or Garland road, go north on Buckner to Northcliff.

From Northwest Hwy or Mockingbird, go south on Buckner to Northcliff.

Then west on Northcliff Dr, 2 blocks down to the lake.

Parking

Race parking uses the Bath House Cultural Center parking lot.  Please arrive early, the parking lot has limited access.

Fees

Duathlon: $50 early, $60 10-days out, $70 race-day.

Duathlon Relay Team: $70 early, $80 10-days out, $100 race-day.

5K: $22 early, $25 10-days out, $30 race-day.

   •  Saturday, June 16, 2012 – 10am - 5pm
** First day starts one hour after store opening.
** Last day ends one hour before store closing.

Important Duathlon Information

This is not a USA Triathlon event.  You will not be required to purchase a USAT membership in order to participate.  USAT rules will be enforced.  Our group insurance policy covers this event and we pass the savings on to you, plus eliminate all that paper work.

HELMETS must be worn with chin straps fastened when on bike!!! (This includes before and after the race too.)

NO DRAFTING.
NO GLASS in the transition area.
NO HEADPHONES on the bike.  
NO REMOVING your bike from the transition area until the race is over.  (You must be wearing a matching run/bike number to remove your bike, period, no exceptions)
 

Race-Day Registration

Race day registration starts at 6:20am and will close 20 minutes prior to the race start. Pre-registered entrants will not be guaranteed t-shirts after that time. Race day registrants will receive t-shirts as long as they last.

Event Shirt

Entrants who register or pick up their packets before race day are guaranteed a limited edition short sleeve event Tech-shirt. 

Race day registrants will receive shirts as long as they are available. 

Pre registered entrants are guaranteed shirts only until 15 minutes before race start. Shirts will not be mailed or saved if you do not pick up your packet.

5k & Duathlon:

1st Overall Male & Female
1st Masters Male & Female

Top 3 Duathlon Relay Teams - Male, Female, Mixed

Top 3 in age groups:
12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24
65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over

Top 5 in age groups:
25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64

Top 3 Female Athena (over 150 lbs)
Top 5 Male Clydesdale (over 200-214 lbs)
Top 3 Male Rhino (215-239 lbs)
Top 3 Male Hippo (240+)

Clydesdale, Rhino, & Hippo are not eligible for age group awards.

First person across the line wins; awards are based on Gun Time.

You must be at the awards ceremony to receive your award. Awards will not be presented after race day.

Series Awards

The duathlon will have series awards

Refreshments

Refreshments served to participants after the event. Gatorade, Ice Water, Sodas, Beer & variety of fresh fruits.
